We are already halfway through December and it feels like we should still be in July. December always starts off with a celebration for our oldest grandson's birthday.
Walker turned nine on December 4th. It is so very fun to be able to share the ordinary and special days with him. A sign that he is growing up was his pleasure at receiving a book light from his parents so he could read in bed without bothering his brothers. Sometimes it is hard to get him to start reading, but it is very hard to get him to stop. He has been known to walk home from our house while reading!
Next we celebrated Miles 5th birthday. It is hard to believe that the youngest is 5! He has his specific traits too. For one thing, he doesn't like cake so Mom made frosted ice cream "cupcakes". He often asks to play a game so naturally our gift was an "I Spy" game we all could enjoy.
After the birthdays had been celebrated it was then time for Christmas. Todd, Cindy and the boys walked the wagon and wheelbarrow over and we all walked just a block to the tree lot. It was much easier year with only rain. Last year we slipped along on partially melted snow that had frozen, leaving everything covered in ice and we carried our own sand for the sidewalks. Everything smelled so good as some trees were just being unloaded after being cut the day before. After choosing our trees we walked them home. Walker stayed with us to help Pop pop with the lights and bake some cookies for me. We will have all 3 boys help with the ornaments later.
Now we just have to wait until Christmas!
